Multiple Arrests After Shots Fired Overnight

At 10:05 p.m. on September 4, Amarillo Police were called out to the 2200 block of NE 6th on a report of a large fight and shots fired.
AMARILLO -- At 10:05 p.m. on September 4, Amarillo Police were called out to the 2200 block of NE 6th on a report of a large fight and shots fired. 

When officers arrived, they detained three people walking away from the area, while other officers went to a residence in the 600 block of N. Osage where additional participants were reportedly located. 

Officers contacted the occupants of the residence and several individuals came out and were detained while officers continued the investigation. A Police K-9 unit was requested and the house was cleared with the use of the dog and two more individuals were located hiding inside the residence. 

During the investigation, officers recovered 2 .22 caliber rifles, one 12 gauge shotgun and one .380 pistol; the pistol was later determined to have been stolen out of Randall County. 

Christian Alexis Mata, 17, was arrested and booked into Potter County Corrections on charges of Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon, Theft of a Firearm and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. 

A second individual was arrested for some outstanding municipal court warrants. 

No one was injured by the reported gun shots. The incident remains under investigation.
