Many cleaned out their medicine cabinets and headed over to Texas Tech Health Science Center.
The fall medication cleanout has been a quick and easy way for people to get rid of medicine they no longer need since 2009.
Folks could either bring their meds in, or do a "drive-thru drop off."
Residents, med students, and volunteers kept very busy sorting and organizing hundreds of bottles of medicine.
The medication cleanout program aims to reduce the roughly 38,000 poisoning deaths that happen throughout the country each year.
