League of Women Voters Registering Voters Today and Tomorrow

Early voting begins February 18 and continues through February 28.
AMARILLO -- The League of Women Voters registered voters today and will register voters tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at three United Supermarket locations-the Amigos store at 3300 I-40 East, the River Road store at 3400 River Road and the store at 4701 S. Washington.

Citizens 18 years or older who are not registered or have moved from the address of their registration card need to become registered by February 3 to be eligible to vote in the March 4 primary election.

Those who have changed their name should also contact their county voter registrar or fill out a new card. If a person is currently registered, he/she should have received a new orange voter registration card in the mail within the last month.

The primary ballot will include candidates for Congress, for Texas governor and other statewide positions, the Texas Legislature, and local officials such as Potter County judge and county commissioner positions.

"We urge everyone who is not a registered voter to take advantage of this opportunity to get registered and then become an informed, active voter," said Carolyn Barnett, the Leagues voter registration chair.  "This is your chance to have a say in how our government works!"

Early voting begins February 18 and continues through February 28.
