Keeping Roads Safe Over Labor Day Weekend

8 southern states team up to keep the streets safe over the holiday weekend.
One road, one mission will be the theme of Interstate 10 Labor Day weekend.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is teaming up with eight southern states in an effort to keep the streets safe and reduce fatalities over the holiday weekend.

Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, and California will be participating in an intensified enforcement effort called 10-8 on 10.

From August 30 - September 2, DPS troopers will focus on stopping impaired drivers, aggressive drivers, speeders, and drivers who don't move out of the left lane.

Troopers focus on these safety precautions every day, but this is the first time the eight states have come together to keep the roadways safe.
