(KXAN) Some residents in an East Austin, Texas neighborhood say a new house under construction is an eyesore.
It's made out of semi-truck trailers and other recycled materials.
Shell Houston and her husband David live next door to the house.
"This overpowers the neighborhood," she said. "It kind of depreciates it. It takes the history out of the neighborhood."
Austin city officials say the owner has a permit and they don't regulate what materials are used. The city last inspected the house in October after the trailers went up.
The plans were approved and according to Austin's code compliance department, the owner is in compliance.
