(NBC News) Nidal Hasan, the man convicted of gunning down 13 people and wounding dozens more during a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, has been sentenced to death.
A military jury of 13 retired officers handed down the sentence Wednesday afternoon after two hours of deliberation.
Hasan, now stripped of his rank and dismissed from the Army, will be imprisoned at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas while an automatic appeals process takes place.
