Gov. Perry Appoints Local Amarillo Nurse to Texas Board of Nursing

AUSTIN -- Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Monica Hamby of Amarillo to the Texas Board of Nursing for a term to expire January 31, 2019. 

The board ensures licensed nurses in Texas meet the necessary requirements to practice, and oversees accreditation of schools of nursing. 

Hamby is a licensed vocational nurse at BSA Health System in Amarillo, and a former surgical nurse for the Amarillo Heart Group.
