FRITCH -- A couple from Fritch is suing the city and several parents for civil rights violations.
Luke and Ruth Donoghue's home was burglarized in December 2011. They say, by four teenagers.
In the suit, they claim during the burglary investigation the police department lost or destroyed some of the evidence and property belonging to the donoghues.
The Donoghues also say four teens were arrested and confessed to the burglary, but because two of them were related to a Hutchinson County Sheriff's Deputy the case was dropped in May 2012.
They claim the reason, they were told, was that a former chief "didn't want to ruin the kids lives".
