Democratic Candidates Come to Amarillo

The annual banquet for the Potter/Randall Democratic Club stops by Amarillo.
Democratic candidates are making a march across Texas for their candidacy, making a stop in the yellow city on January 11.

The annual banquet for the Potter/Randall Democratic club was hosted this year at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Candidate for Texas Agriculture Commissioner Hugh Fitzsimmons was on hand to give his case for candidacy.

Fitzsimmons says, "I want the the Texas Department of Agriculture to start to put together a comprehensive realistic water plan for the future. "

Also in attendance was Steve Brown, who's thrown his name in for railroad commissioner.
    
Brown issues facing the railroad commission this next year.

He says, "I'm best because of my background with the legislature to be able to create statutorily, an agency that works for everyone. "

The keynote speaker was Senator Leticia Van de Putte, democratic candidate for Lt. Governor of Texas, who serves on the Senate Veteran Affairs and Military Installations Committee, where she has been chair for the past 10 years.

Van de Putte is also a member of the Senate Committees on Business and Commerce, State Affairs, and Education.
