Deep Freeze Sets In

Much of the nation is now in the icy grip of the "polar vortex".
(NBC News)  There's a blanket of cold air over the entire nation this morning. 

Meteorologist call it a "polar vortex", but most people just call it brutally cold.

Minnesota has some of the coldest temperatures in the nation.

The polar vortex dipped into the Deep South as well, causing power outages in Dallas and snow in Georgia.

Flightaware reports almost 2,000 cancellations already today and more are expected.
