LUBBOCK -- A hearing has been delayed for one of the suspects involved the murder for hire plot against a Lubbock doctor.
David Neal Shepard, a businessman from here in Amarillo, was scheduled to appear Friday morning in a Lubbock courtroom and was expected to plea guilty.
The hearing is in connection with the murder of Joseph Sonnier the III.
Investigators say Shepard shot and killed Sonnier last July because the man who hired him, Dr. Thomas Michael Dixon, was upset Sonnier was dating his ex-girlfriend.
The District Attorney's Office in Lubbock County has confirmed the hearing is delayed but wouldn't say why. So far, no reschedule date has been announced.
