CANYON -- Students and faculty in the School of Music at West Texas A&M University are sharing their musical talents at the 34th annual Showcase of Music tonight at 8 p.m. at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts in Amarillo.

A traditional pre-show will begin at 7:20 p.m. in the Centers lobby.

There will be performances by the concert band, symphonic band and percussion ensemble. In addition, there will be performances by two chamber ensembles named winners of the annual Showcase competition. The evenings program will conclude with a finale featuring the WTAMU symphony orchestra and choirs comprised of both current and former students in a performance of Beethovens Ninth Symphony.

"The Showcase is a great way to feature our faculty and our students and the amazing talent we have right here at West Texas A&M University," Doug Storey, associate professor of music and member of the Showcase committee, said. "This is one of the most exciting concert programs of the year-we have a great time, and the audience does too."
