WT Leads the League with 146 Student-Athletes on the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

To be eligible for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be active on the roster.

RICHARDSON, Texas – West Texas A&M placed a league-high 146 student-athletes on the 2014 Lone Star Conference Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll announced on Tuesday morning by the league’s offices in Richardson, Texas. The LSC announced 736 total honorees from the league’s nine institutions including 213 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

To be eligible for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be active on the roster. West Texas A&M led the league with 146 honorees followed by Angelo State with 107 and Eastern New Mexico with 103, WT led the list of flawless 4.0 GPA’s with 45 while ASU had 34, Texas A&M-Commerce had 31, and Tarleton State finished with 30. Football and women’s soccer topped the list of 4.0’s with 27 each followed by volleyball and women’s track & field with 26.

Starting this academic year, the Commissioner’s Honor Roll is being announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester. Previously, the honorees qualified by GPA for the current academic year and were announced at the end of the spring academic term.
