Vaughan Named AFCA All-American

West Texas A&M senior quarterback Dustin Vaughan was named to the AFCA All-America team on Tuesday.
West Texas A&M senior quarterback Dustin Vaughan was named to the AFCA All-America team on Tuesday.

Vaughan is one of three players named to the team from the Lone Star Conference.  Senior running back Keidrick Jackson from Midwestern State and junior defensive lineman Charlie Tuaau of Texas A&M-Commerce also were named to the team.

Vaughan leaves West Texas A&M as the school and Lone Star Conference all-time leader in passing yards (13,525), total offense (13,608) and touchdowns (123).  This season, he led WT to the NCAA quarterfinals for the second consecutive year and an 11-3 record overall.

Vaughan is the only passer in any division to throw for over 5,000 yard this season as he finished with 5,401 yards and 53 touchdown passes which are both school and conference records.
