Update: Police Investigating Suspicious Death of Tucumcari Man in Clovis

Clovis Police Officers say the death is suspicious due to the amount of blood found on the victim and the fact the house should have been vacant. Officials are investigating the death as a homicide at this time.

UPDATE -- Clovis Police have released the name of the victim, 33 year-old Jose Barrera with a Tucumcari address.

Barrera has been living in Clovis for some time in a transient manner with no permanent address.

Investigators are attempting to locate 42-year-old Frank Campos of Clovis and 37-year-old Lorenzo Medina (AKA “Torro”) of Clovis. Anybody with any knowledge of the whereabouts or how to contact these two men are asked to contact the Clovis Police Department Dispatch at 575-769-1921 and ask to speak with a Detective.

CLOVIS -- Clovis Police continue to investigate a suspicious death.

A property manager alerted Clovis Police to a body Monday, just after 12 p.m. at a residence in the 400 block of N. Sheldon. 

Clovis Police Officers say the death is suspicious due to the amount of blood found on the victim and the fact the house should have been vacant.  Officials are investigating the death as a homicide at this time.

The body is at the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for autopsy for determination of cause and manner of death.  

The victim has been positively identified but the name is being withheld at this time until a next of kin can be notified of the death.
