SANTA FE -- The unemployment rate in New Mexico is up.
According to the Department of Workforce, the unemployment rate has risen to 6.6-percent in July, up from 6.5-percent in June.
However despite the increase, officials say the rate is actually lower compared to the same time last year which was 7-percent.
Officials say that's thanks to increased employment in education and health jobs.
