Trooper Finds Over $2 Million Worth of Drugs During I40 Traffic Stop

Two people are behind bars after DPS finds more than $2.5 million worth of meth and cocaine.
Following an I-40 traffic stop, Texas Department of Public Safety finds over $2 million worth of drugs. 

Just after 8 p.m. on September 12, a DPS trooper stopped at Volkswagen traveling eastbound on I-40 for a traffic violation near Conway in Carson County.

Troopers discovered 45 pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $1.6 million and 37 pounds of cocaine valued at over $1.1 million.

57 year old Estela Maldonado Montijo and 49 year old Miguel A Montijo-Martinez, both of Livingston, California were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

They are booked into Carson County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Livingston to Atlanta, Georgia.
