Travelers Hit the Road for Labor Day Weekend

Low Gas Prices Get More People on Highways
AMARILLO -- It's only Thursday, but it's the day to hit the road for many Labor Day weekend travelers.

AAA predicts 34.7 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home over the holiday weekend -- most of them on the roads.

This is the highest amount of travelers for the Labor Day weekend since 2008.

Most drivers are paying less for gas, making travel more affordable.

The U.S. average is $3.43 for regular, down 11 cents from a year ago.
