Karate practitioners from across the country are gathering in Amarillo.
The Amarillo Martial Arts Center hosted the second annual Top of Texas Karate Championships at the Civic Center.
The competition was divided by age and experience.
It consisted of forms, weapon forms and individual sparring.
Director of Top of Texas Lee Gray says, "it's something that they can do their entire life, I've been practicing for more than fifty years. It's something that is good for children as well as it is for adults and even senior citizens, it's never too late too start and it's almost never too young to start. "
The Top of Texas Karate Championships is the only event of its kind held in the Texas Panhandle.
