AMARILLO -- Grades are in for schools all around the state, after the Texas Education Agency (TEA) releases their yearly report card for school districts in Texas.

The report card is for the 2012, 2013 school year and is based on four indexes:

    - Student achievement
    - Student progress
    - Closing performance gaps
    - Post secondary readiness.

Once all the info's gathered, the schools are rated as either met standard, or improvement required.

Most of the major high schools in the area, such as Amarillo and Canyon high school did meet the standard, but we found that the TEA says 17 schools in our area need improvement. Those schools are,

Amarillo -- HUMPHREY'S HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY
Canyon -- CITY VIEW ELEMENTARY
