Suspect Caught in Domestic Dispute Turned Shooting

Officers found the victim in the back driveway of a home with apparent gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen.
UPDATE -- On Wednesday, the 47th District Attorney’s Office accepted charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a family member for 46-year-old Marcellus Ywain Adams. 

On Thursday, Adams surrendered himself and was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on the warrant. 

AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police were called out Monday around 7:42 p.m. to the 500 block of S. Florida on a reported shooting.

Officers found the victim in the back driveway of a home with apparent gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen.  

Officials say that the victim was in a domestic dispute when the alleged suspect shot the vicitm.  

The victim and suspect were in a SUV parked on 5th Avenue near Alabama at the time of the shooting. The victim was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle when the suspect shot the victim.  The suspect then fled in a dark colored SUV.  

The victim's car traveled along 5th to Florida before going over the curb and stopping when it hit a fence.  The victim got out of the vehicle and was found across the street.  

The victim was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.  

There have been no arrests in this incident.
