PORTALES -- The bankruptcy trustee for Sunland Peanuts has filed a motion for the court to approve the sale of the company.
According to the document filed last month, he is asking the court to approve the sale for $18.5-million to a California company.
Ready Roast Nut Company was the highest bidder for the company.
A hearing is set for next month for a federal bankruptcy judge to make a decision.
There is no word if ready roast has plans to re-open the Portales plant.
