Plants are said to be good for a number of reasons, but now a local organization is using to them to make money for veterans.
Socks for Soldiers had a plant sale August 23rd.
They sold hibiscus, ferns, ivy and many others that need a warm home for the winter.
The money raised is going to support hospitalized veterans.
Coordinator Carolyn Miller says, "they gave everything they had,and many of them are back home, our young veterans are back home, injured and they need to know we care. Our older ones sometimes think they've been forgotten and they need to know we care. That's what Socks for Soldiers is all about."
Aside from plants, they were also selling some furniture and other miscellaneous items.
