$35 is all it takes to make sure a child doesn't go hungry this summer.
"These are the kids that really don't look forward to summer. And they don't look forward to summer because they don't have anything to eat during the school year," Arnie Padilla, with Snack Pak 4 Kids said.
As those at Snack Pak know too well, hunger doesn't take the summer off.
Two years ago, they were feeding 100 kids in the summer. That was up 1,000 last summer. This year, the goal is to feed 2,000 kids during the summer months.
It's easy to sponsor. It just takes $35.
"The $35 that we're talking about, 100 percent of that as you well know, 100 percent of that goes directly to feeding kids. So Baptist Community Services takes care of all of our overhead, so that $35 goes directly to feeding kids," Padilla said.
