Family Support Services aims to raise awareness and educate the Panhandle about sexual assault.

According to Family Support Services, more than 200,000 sexual assaults occur each year.

The organization has hosted several events throughout the month of April to bring awareness to the issue. Angie Stovall, Crisis Services Coordinator, says it's important to get the information out.

Family Support Services says you can prevent sexual violence by signing up for pledge cards. The cards promise not to condone or engage in sexual violence. You can find the pledge cards at many local businesses.
