Ruling May Decrease AISD's Debt

AISD's debt may be going down after today's ruling on school finance.
AMARILLO --    AISD's debt may be going down after today's ruling on school finance.
A state district judge declared the state's funding system unconstitutional.
AISD is among more than 500-school districts to sue the state over funding.
Judge John Dietz originally ruled on this case last year but, ordered another trial after lawmakers restored nearly $4 million of the $5.5 billion dollars in funding that was cut in 2011.
The judge says the current system does not provide adequate funding nor is it fairly distributed among wealthy and poor school districts.
    The state plans to appeal.
