Poll: Trust in Government at All-Time Low

Poll: Trust in Government at All-Time Low

Just 13-percent of responders say the government can be trusted to do what's right always or most of the time.
At noon tomorrow, it will be exactly 40-years since Richard Nixon became the first US President to resign from office.

The Watergate scandal had tarnished his presidency, and four-decades later, many Americans still consider it a serious matter.

A new CNN ORC poll shows those older than 40 believe the scandal was a very serious problem.

However, those younger than 40 believe it was just politics.

The poll also shows trust in government is at an all-time low.

Just 13-percent of responders say the government can be trusted to do what's right always or most of the time.

A little more than three-quarter say only some of the time and one in 10 say they never trust the government.
