The Amarillo VA Health Care System is remembering loved ones, one brick at a time.
The VA hosted the annual patio of honor bricklaying ceremony June 14.
Each of the bricks were engraved with veterans names.
Officials with the VA tell us events like this are just one way to show love for those who have fought for our freedoms.
Andrew Welch, Director of the Amarillo VA Health Care System says, "it's a way of our community recognizing those who have served and those who have given a lot for their country some that were recognized today were those that were killed in action and others were honers of their familes. "
More than 1,200 bricks bearing the names of loved ones have been placed since 1997.
