Students from 19 middle schools all across the high plains filled West Texas A&M today for the annual Pantex Middle School Science Bowl.
A record 42 teams put their knowledge to the test, for a chance to represent the panhandle at the national competition in Washington D.C.
We caught up with a moderator and a contestant to see what sets these students apart from the rest.
Moderator Laura Bailey says, " you know, its very important for these kids to kinda work together as a team. They all have their special areas of study.
Science bowl participant Holly Wilhelm, "you can't just rely on what you think. You have to know that they may have a better answer."
