New Capabilities Introduced at Cannon Air Force Base

Special tactics squadrons have many members that traditional squadrons don't have.
CANNON AIR FORCE BASE -- There are new capabilities at cannon air force base thanks to the addition of a new special tactics unit.

They held a ceremony this morning, officially giving command of the "26th special tactics squadron" to Major Michael Jensen.

This is the first time an air force special tactics unit has been assigned to the base.

Special tactics squadrons have many members that traditional squadrons don't have.

There are officers, combat controllers, para-rescuemen, special op weather technicians, and air liaison officers.
