The name alone is questionable.
The vampire facial, or "blood facial."
"Some people thinks it's gory,I think it's catchy."
So, what is it?
It's a facial using a patients own blood platelets to help heal tissue and regenerate cells.
First, numbing cream is applied.
"Patients don't feel any pain from the micro needle."
Then, blood is drawn and put through this machine, separating the red and white blood cells from the platelets, turning into a yellowish color.
Now comes the skin pin.
"It's electric and it has about 10 or 12 little needles that come out of it all at once,"
In vertical and horizontal passes, the skin pin causes pin-point bleeding, allowing the plasma rich platelets, or PRP, to seep into the skin.
"I can feel it a little bit, but it's not bad at all."
It takes about four weeks without anti-inflammatory drugs for the platelets to sit on the skin and multiply, then comes the benefits.
"You can see a reduction in brown spots, reduction in pore size, overall skin brightness, skin health is better after PRP."
Something to look forward to after a day or so of redness.
"It's not that I want to look like i'm in my 20's or even in my 40's, it's just that I want to feel and be the best that I can be."
The price for youth is pretty steep. The facial costs about $600.
