Local Red Cross Sends Two Volunteers to Relief Efforts in Arkansas

AMARILLO -- Two volunteers from the Texas Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross, Raenell Gore and David Watson, are heading to help support the Red Cross relief effort in Arkansas following a terrible night of storms.

The pair took the Panhandle's emergency response vehicle. The vehicle can be used in many ways, from bulk distribution to mobile feeding operations.

They could be gone for a couple of weeks or more depending on the needs.

"I often talk about the generosity of our volunteers, they drop everything in their lives, travel across the country to help those in need…it’s always so very inspiring to me," said Executive Director Steve Pair. "We are grateful for each and everyone one of them."

If anyone would like to support the Red Cross relief efforts in Mayflower and other disasters, you can visit www.redcross.org or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10.
