Liberal, KS Hit and victim Taken to Amarillo Hospital

A white Dodge Ram pickup backed into him, pinning him between the pickup and the ice machine. Witnesses reported the driver sped away without helping the victim.
LIBERAL, KANSAS -- On Sunday morning, Liberal emergency responders were sent to the 200 block of W. Pancake on a hit and run.

Officers learned that a 30-year-old male was walking beside the ice machine at Love's Country Store. A white Dodge Ram pickup backed into him, pinning him between the pickup and the ice machine. Witnesses reported the driver sped away without helping the victim. 

The victim was transported to Southwest Medical Center by Seward County EMS, then transferred to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo for further care. His condition was not life threatening.

Officers searching the area and found the suspected vehicle at an address in the 100 block of Hoover Street. The vehicle was not occupied. 

Investigators contacted the owner of the vehicle. The owner, a 22-year-old male, was brought to the police department for questioning with investigators. He was subsequently arrested.
