Legal Settlement Reached for Amarillo Strip Club Owner

The owner of three Amarillo strip clubs agrees to pay several employees more than $300,000.
The owner of three Amarillo strip clubs agrees to pay several employees more than $300,000.

The lawsuit named Beavers Gentlemen's Club, cheetahs and Babes Gentlemen's Club, and Amarillo businessman Behrooz Sadigh-Pour as defendants.

According to court documents, the clubs will pay more than $318,000, plus interest to 21 employees who sued.

The suit claims the clubs, owned by Sadigh-Pour violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Attorney Jeremi Young tells us the club's owner was not paying these employees minimum wage and they were not getting any overtime pay.

Instead, he says the employees were being paid only with tips.

Young says, "that money has not been paid and we have not received any indication that it's going to be paid. I think we are going to have to go out and try to collect it, most likely by asking the court to order a sale of assets that are owned by some of these companies.  "

He tells us this could result in one of the three clubs being sold.

If that club sells for the money needed, the others will remain open.

If not, they'll sell another club until they collect the reimbursement.

Young says he's not exactly sure how long this has been going on, but in cases like this he says they look at a roughly 2 year period.

The clubs' owner hasn't responded to our request for an interview.
