The Caviness Sports Complex opened in Hereford on Monday.

“We are excited about the opportunity to expand our business model to another community,” said Jimmy R. Lackey, president and CEO for Kids, Incorporated. “Our goal is to incorporate the outlying communities in the Hereford area and to provide quality sports programs for children and families in that region of the Texas Panhandle.”

In 2012, Hereford Regional Sportsplex Inc. (HRSP) was formed as a nonprofit organization. Leaders from Hereford began consulting with Kids, Incorporated of Amarillo after receiving several inquiries from members of the Hereford community regarding their desire for an indoor sports complex. The Hereford Economic Development Corporation and the City of Hereford donated a 75-acre tract of land for the project. Future plans include outdoor fields to be used for multi-sport opportunities.
HRSP hired Kids, Incorporated in 2013 to operate and manage their sports programs. The Kids, Incorporated staff was instrumental in the overall design of the facility.
The building includes indoor soccer and flag football fields for both youth and adult sports leagues. Armando Guerrero, of Hereford, was hired by Kids, Incorporated as the general manager of the Caviness Sportsplex.
