(NBC News) President Obama took part Tuesday in the largest-ever event between an American leader and African heads of state centering on business and investment.
The president announced that American businesses are investing $14 billion in everything from infrastructure to information technology betting on Africa's growing economies and their future success.
"We have to do better, much better. I want Africans buying more American products, I want Americans buying more African products," said President Obama
The president is leading a conversation about a continent where starvation, disease and disorder compete with enormous and largely untapped economic potential.
