The Amarillo housing market continues to thrive in 2013.
According to Dirk van Reenen with Caprock Realty Group, total sales and average price were up this summer, and the average days on market was down.
"All those numbers are positive, because we're seeing more volume being sold at a higher price, and it's taking less days on market to sell it," Van Reenen said.
Additionally, Van Reenen advised, whether you're buying or selling, the market looks good.
"Right now we really have a good balanced market, and we saw a lot of activity really rising up in the first part of the year, which was almost shifting it to too much of a sellers market. But now we're kind of really back into a balanced market," he said.
But Caprock Realty Group recommends you don't wait too long. The current low interest rates may not be here to stay, and a lack of new development is driving up demand for existing homes.
