(NBC News) A retired Tampa, Florida police officer was the defendant in a Florida courtroom Tuesday.
71-year-old Curtis Reeves is charged with killing a man after an argument over texting in a movie theater on Monday.
The former police captain was arraigned on charges that include second-degree murder.
His attorney argued in court that Reeves had every right to defend himself.
