211 Texas wants to help the homeless this summer.
"We like to have something to give them, just to prepare them for the upcoming summer months. As you know it's incredibly hot, very windy," Chad Gibson, Outreach Manager with 211 Texas said.
But to help those in need beat the Panhandle heat and wind, 211 Texas needs donations.
"Anything like bandanas, bottled watter, hats, chaptstick, sunscreen, sunglasses," Gibson said.
All donations will be provided to clients that attend a summer outreach day on Saturday, June 21st. It's from 9- 11 am, and other local resources will be on hand to offer help.
Gibson says, they expect to serve a lot of clients at the resource center this year.
"For our day room, our homeless day shelter that we have, we're anticipating 1,800 un-duplicated walk-ins, and that's just strictly for our day room only, so its quite a bit of people," Gibson said.
A lot of people, needing help this summer and it's easy to lend a hand. You can drop off donations at the Guyon Saunders Resource Center.
