GUYMON – The Guymon Fire Department is hosting a grand opening Saturday for the brand new firehouse.
The station is the largest in the Oklahoma Panhandle and possibly anywhere in the nearby area.
The firehouse is 25,000sq feet and the only recognized ALS EMS service in the Panhandle, houses 2 Engine companies and the only Ladder truck in the Panhandle. It also houses the Panhandle Technical Rescue Team and units along with trained and equipped Hazardous Materials Team and a Region-1 REMSS EMS Mass Casualty Medical Trailer.
The lobby of the new Station is a historical fire museum of Guymon, displaying it’s still fully functional 1920 American La France Fire Truck; which was Guymon’s fire motorized fire apparatus and the 9/11 World Trade Center piece.
