Free checking is quickly disappearing at the country's largest banks, but credit unions are still offering the accounts.
According to a survey by Bankrate.com, about 72 percent of credit unions offer free checking accounts with no strings attached.
Only 38 percent of big banks are doing the same, according to responses from ten major banks.
That's down from 65 percent just four years ago.
