(KPRC) A commercial airline pilot who swallowed balloons of cocaine to transport from South America to Texas is recovering at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Houston.
Stanley Rafael Hill, of McKinney, is charged with felony possession of drugs with intent to deliver.
A source close to the investigation says shortly before boarding the flight from Colombia, Hill ingested 62 small rubber sacks of cocaine. Hill was traveling as a passenger on a commercial flight; he was not flying the airplane, the source said.
One of the drug sacks burst inside Hill's stomach and Hill himself called for help from a Houston hotel shortly after his flight arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport.
