Flight 370: Still Searching

Crews continue their search for missing Malaysian Airlines jetliner.
(NBC News)  Australian and American search planes crisscrossed a remote patch of the South Indian Ocean Friday near where Malaysian Flight 370 might have crashed two weeks ago, but there was no sign of two objects seen on satellite that may be pieces of the plane.

"If it had been in clusters and had it been on the surface at one point,  a lot of it may be submerged by now," says former National Transportation Safety Board crash investigator Greg Feith.

Others theorize the larger image is one of hundreds of shipping containers lost in the same area.

Malaysia, meanwhile, has asked the Pentagon for underwater listening gear to help zero in on the black boxes from the plane, but the pings only go out a few miles.

A crash site must be found before they'd be useful.
