Amarillo -- Tax season has come and gone, and that means the time for student's to fill out financial aid applications is now.

Amarillo College is helping students fill out their FAFSA'S this year with 'Financial Aid Night' next Tuesday, April 22nd from 6 - 7:30 p.m., located at AC's Community Link at 2412 North Grand Street.

Both financial aid and academic advisors will be available. The workshop is free for all, and provides hands on help filling out what can be a tricky application.

"I think sometimes students have this misperception that i got something wrong, or i don't qualify," said AC Academic Advisor Danette Fenspermaker. "It's just having that extra little assistance to help them complete the process."

Financial aid night is for both college and high school students all over the high plains. Materials will be available for high school seniors to help them fill out their FAFSA's for the first time.

Advisors will be available to actually help fill out all applications on the spot.

According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, nearly 85% of college students receive some type of financial assistance.
