AMARILLO -- We could potentially see abnormal weather in our area this spring season well into summer because of an El Nino weather pattern.
NOAA has issued an El Nino watch for the us.
According to experts, weather patterns that we normally see during spring could change.
And here on the high plains those changes could actually benefit us.
For example, it means more rain in our area. Which is essential to help fight the continuing drought.
According to Chief Meteorologist John Harris our typical summer is usually dry.
Severe weather season usually peaks around April and May
And according to John, we could potentially see more active tornadoes if El Nino does affect us.
