(NBC News) As Ebola patient Dr. Kent Brantly's treatment continues at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, specialists say they are encouraged by the way he's responding.
"He seems to be improved from the reports we got earlier," says Centers for Disease Control Director Dr. Tom Frieden. "Ebola can be deadly, but in people who are healthy, the case fatality rate may be lower than the ones that we're usually quoting."
In the next couple of days he will share the special isolation unit at the Atlanta facility with Nancy Writebol, an aide who contracted the deadly virus while working alongside Dr. Brantly during their medical mission in Africa.
