DPS Seizes Over $222,000 of Meth During Traffic Stop

During the traffic stop, the trooper found six zip lock bags of meth in the left rear quarter panel.
AMARILLO -- A DPS traffic stop Tuesday on I-40 yielded over six pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $222,000.

At 9:10 a.m., a DPS trooper pulled over a 2005 Toyota Scion traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

The occupants of the Toyota were identified as 21-year-old Moses Aaron Chacon and 34-year-old Glenda Judith Chacon.  During the traffic stop, the trooper found six zip lock bags of meth in the left rear quarter panel. 

Both occupants were arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. 

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, California to Kansas City, Missouri.
