Don't Forget That Caffeine

There's more good news for coffee and cola drinkers. We've heard it can help you stay healthy, lose weight, and now one study suggests another benefit to caffeine.
Whether it is coffee, tea, or caffeinated soda it turns out that your morning fix might actually help your memory for up to 24 hours after you drink it.

The Johns Hopkins University assistant professor who did the research found that caffeine has a quote "positive effect on long-term memory."

For the study, he showed people pictures of everyday things, like a rubber duck for example.

The next day, the participant's memories were tested on their ability to remember what they had seen the day before versus pictures that were slightly altered and found that those who drank caffeine did better on the test.

Now, the people in the study were given about 200 milligrams of caffeine, the equivalent of one strong, or two small, cups of coffee, and the researchers found that it was important they not get more or less than that or the effect was lost.
