Da Vinci On Display

Recreations of Leonardo da Vinci's revolutionary designs go on display in Florida.
(WFLA)  Inside Florida's Bradenton Municipal Auditorium wooden models are suspended in the air, or put on display.

As visitors take a look at the miniature wooden models, the designs appear archaic, and yet they are strangely familiar.

There is a prototype for a parachute at one end of the room.  Just below it is the air screw, the precursor of the modern-day helicopter.

Sitting on a stage is clearly a bicycle.

Leonardo da Vinci came up with many of these designs hundreds of years before they ever became reality.

"Everything that da Vinci said. Everything that da Vinci did applies to our life today," says da Vinci Machines Exhibition director Mark Rodgers.
