Curry County Jury Finds Daniel Murrell Guilty Of First Degree Murder

Murrell is a habitual offender and is facing a sentence of life plus 28 years in prison with the enhancements for prior felony convictions.
CLOVIS -- A Curry County jury found 25-year-old Daniel Murrell guilty of murder after two hours of deliberation.

Murrell was charged with the Janurary 2013 Armed Robbery, Theft of a Credit Card and Illegal Use of Credit Cards when he robbed a Clovis resident and beat him with a firearm.  

Two days later, Murrell robbed and beat Joe Garcia behind the Allsups store at 11th and Mitchell in Clovis.  Garcia died a few days later from complications of blunt force trauma he suffered, which resulted in Murrell being charged with Felony Murder and Robbery.

Judge Van Soelen ordered that Murrell be held without bond until his sentencing date.
